Review of White Walls
White Walls is an intriguing debut novel from H.M.C. Set in the near past of the 1990’s in Australia, it delves into the world of psychiatric care facilities and explores the fine line between fact and fiction.
Could the delusional ramblings of a mentally ill patient be real? Told from multiple points of view the story deals with issues of betrayal, self-worth and childhood abuse. More compellingly it raises the question of how far a researcher would go to prove their theory. Conspiracy theories make for good suspense stories and this one doesn’t disappoint.
The action ramps up along with the pace in the second half of the story as the plot twists and turns to a satisfying conclusion.
Who will this appeal to? Anyone who likes a dark suspense story with an optimistic ending.

Aussie Thriller!
‘H.M.C introduces us to a cast of closet crazies before turning up the dial and dropping us deep into their world. This is when the book truly becomes a fun read. Full of suspense, I could not put it down and devoured White Walls all too quickly. I'm not going to reveal any of the plot as it should be discovered in all its glory by the reader. Suffice to say I thought this a very good debut read.

This is a gripping page turner! Bleary eyed through most of a rainy weekend, I got to know the inmates and characters of this small town. They are believable and quirky and there are plenty of clever lines to smile over. The premise of the story is disturbingly realistic and will have you thinking twice about conspiracy theories. Jade is a hero you want to succeed but the story is so clever you're never really sure if she will. Great read and highly recommended.
