It follows the events during the heroine's vacation in Egypt. She is with a group of fellow tourists, visiting archeological and historical sites. However, she is soon very attracted to someone in the group and is dismayed when a series of strange events give her reason to doubt him. Danger and intrigue soon are all around her, and a mysterious disappearance makes her increasingly anxious. She is torn between her emotions and what she believes is the truth and can trust no-one.
