Elena has been told not to enter these woods, and in fact there are barriers and signs to that effect. But what the heck they look just like the woods behind her house and what could go wrong.
What starts out as a simple trip into the woods results in a fantastical discovery that she is advised by the inhabitants she can never tell anyone about. At the risk of death !!
What follows is a vision or is it real ? Can she help the people in the forest ? Can she tell anyone about what she has seen ?
A mid grade to senior grade fantasy adventure. Well developed characters and story line are entertaining

Elena, an ordinary teen, must embark on a quest to find the gems and save El-Tepora.
In The Pillar of Light, Elena and her friends must travel across the world, fight fierce enemies and find the Weapon in order to save El-Tepora. Will Elena find the courage within herself to face the pillar of light?
I did find that The Golden Staff Saga: The Pillar of Light has some great positive messages that would be beneficial for teenagers and even tweens to hear and understand including: the choices you make matter, you matter and if you give someone a chance and look beyond their outer being you will find you have something in common with everyone you meet--you just need to look! With all the negativity these days it was refreshing to read something with a positive message!
