“Pong the not-BIG Pig” is an illustrated rhyme about a small, but heroic piglet called “Pong”. Pong is left to his books and his daydreams by his larger siblings who mistakenly judge him by his size. However, when they find themselves in trouble, it is the clever, imaginative and resourceful Pong who forgivingly comes to their rescue and proves that size really doesn’t matter.
“Pong the not-BIG Pig” is a story for children ages 4-5 and up. The story demonstrates that it is “who” you are, rather than “what”, that really matters. It also outlines the basic mechanical concept of the lever.
This story is meant to grow with children. Children, like adults, learn through familiarity and contextualisation, and Pong’s lessons in self-worth and resolve are applicable for a lifetime.

Pong was a pig
Who was not big at all -
He longed to be large,
But, alas, he was small.
For, being so tiny,
The others would tease him,
And call him “wee” names
And these did not please him.
His brothers and sisters
(Young stinkers all round)
Thought our pink hero
Too low-to-the-ground
And so they would goad him
(And what could be meaner?)
With names such as
Pip Squeak and Hamlet and Wiener
