The inimitable Mr. Edmond Humm is back again with his fourth installment of the much loved and unprecedented Magic series, featuring the eponymous golden retriever with human intelligence. In Magic’s Memory, Magic’s owner/partner in crime Ryan Quinn is married, kicked out of the FBI, and moved on to the hardboiled life of a Floridian private eye, a dick, a gumshoe, a rubber Johnny, and that’s where my book of clichés and double-entendres runs dry…
Anywho, life should be good for the dog who’s done his job, met the president, and could call the director of the FBI by his first name were he capable of speech. Problem is, nothing ever lasts. And Magic and his offspring represent a treasure trove of blackmarket bioengineering that could put any government’s intelligence division worlds ahead of the competition. That or they could win dog shows. Just for funsies.

If you haven't read the first 3 books in this series it won't diminish the enjoyment of this one. I started reading Magic's Memory and I was hooked and quickly grabbed the others I had missed. I felt like my best friend just left when I finished this book, but now I can spend my summer with Magic!

A real page turner!! I stayed up until 2:30 reading it and couldn't wait to finish it this morning. I hope Edmond Humm continues the series.
