Stay with me, she seemed to whisper, though her mouth never moved. He began to shiver uncontrollably; where her now blackened hands held him down he felt a wave of cold penetrate to his very marrow.
The earth beneath him began to freeze, white tendrils of frost connecting his body to the ground and growing, snakelike, covering his arms and legs till he could no longer feel the weight of her body.
Stay with me, she commanded, her mouth opening wide, growing and filling his vision with a deep and penetrating darkness, a horrible, tangible blackness. He felt his body begin to shut down as this darkness spewed from her mouth, surrounding him, filling the sky. His chest began to tighten as his breathing became labored, throat constricting as he struggled for air.
His vision narrowed, till he finally closed his eyes and let the darkness take him.
