Chronicles of Nurse Noelle although fictionsal are based on patients that Karen cared for when she worked as a nurse.  Noelle is a single mother working hard to leave nursing for a writing career but is often plague by the irony of medicine.  

For anyone who has ever worked as a nurse or cared for patients in anyway, will relate to the sarcasm and humor often needed to deal with the harshness of the medical world.
