What can you say about the West family and their extended family, but they are starting to feel like your own. You can feel the familiar love that you get from being in a tight knit family jump off the page. Each recurring character is becoming like someone in your own life that you love or can't stand (Ava - the character I love to hate). This book centers around the family friend, Punch. Who couldn't like this guy? What a wonderful gentle giant with a heart of gold (that could easily get broken, you'll see). This book has a good main story with plenty of secondary drama filling each character's life (what the heck, Holden!). You're going to wonder about Eugene - is he just a guy down on his luck or really not so nice. I also love the details of each animal in the books too. If you live with a pet, you can easily identify with menagerie and all their quirks. Cindy's book leaves you wanting to know more.... more about the Wests, their lives, their loves, their animals, their friends... make the West family your friends too.
