For Beth Walker who has endured a lifetime of tumultuous storms once again finds herself at a crossroad. When she thought her life was at the peak of all happiness (blessed with a healthy child, married to a man who loved and adored her and more importantly to be alive to experience it all) memories of her past continue to haunt her daily living and intensifies her need to understand her past to have a future
The Truth of It All, book three and final installment in the Forever Beth Series finally exposes who is really behind Beth’s abduction and attempted murder, the murders of Rosie and Rosa Morales and who is ultimately responsible for the tragedies Beth has endured. But most importantly the question readers have had since Lost and found (1st installment in the Forever Beth Series) regarding Kevin's instant eagerness to protect and watch over Beth from that first encounter at the Morales's murder scene is finally reveled.
Excerpt
Stepping out of the shower I look into the mirror and trace the hideous mark that stretches across my chest with my fingers. My eyes begin to swell and a weeping cry emerges. I try to hinder any memory of that day. Until this moment I did a damn good job of doing so during my waking hours. But right now wide awake I’m brought back to that exact moment. Weeping I Immediately put my hands over my mouth to stifle any sound. But I can’t shake the images from that day. I see Angela and hear her words “Beth turn to me”. I feel tightening in my chest, I see only darkness. Will I ever get pass this? With my forever embodied memorial of that day reality sets in. This will be with me forever. I weep even more.
Knock…. Knock…. Beth are you okay?
……….
Beth?
I’m fine all I am able to say
Entering without warning I scramble to cover myself, to hide what I rather not see and certainly not wanting Kevin to see. But my swift actions not quick enough. Instantly grabbing my hands to stop my cover-up, Kevin undoes what I manage to cover. With no words spoken I shake my head in protest and lower my head. Tears streaming down my face Kevin in one swift move raises my head to look into my eyes and upon contact begins kissing my tears away very slowly. The affection increases the water flow. He continues, making his way down my chest kissing now the hideous healing scar. Immediately tensing and pulling away Kevin pulls me firmly back into him and now kissing me passionately on my mouth.
Pulling myself away from his embrace Kevin please stop.
Ignoring my words Kevin lifts me into his arms and carries me into the main part of the bedroom. Placing me onto my feet, I turn to walk away. My hand is grabbed and I turn back to him. Looking into his eyes he completely disrobes me and I stand bare and embarrassed. Starting at the top of my head I’m kissed ending at my healing wound. Kevin moves his fingers across, never taking his eyes off me. He then takes my hand and I’m guided to the full length mirror.
This…… this beautiful mark is as beautiful as this touching my C-section scar. Both of these imperfections brought life to me. This one brought our beautiful little girl into this world and this one touching the area still healing from my open heart surgery brought you back from death. I can’t see anything beyond their natural pure beauty. Don’t ever feel you need to cover yourself in my presence because baby from here I’m kissed on my head to here my feet are kissed is as beautiful this very moment as the day I laid in bed with you for the very first time. Now I’m going to check on our daughter and family. You get dressed so I can have a night out with my very beautiful wife.
With his last words lingering in the air I’m kissed on the forehead then left standing in complete awe. Looking in the mirror I try to see the beauty of it all but the image staring back at me remains unchanged, just a hideous reminder.
