Tom has given us an impeccable plot which moves from story line to story line with a smoothness that carries us beyond the characters and into the historical essence of the time. The pages are filled with unforgettable characters filled with secrets and tales rich in detail and nuance. Moving from suspense to suspense this ride of the warrior will thrill and amaze as your travel down the dangerous trails. Again, a must read from Mr. Nelson. Can't wait for the next one. Bravo.....

If you enjoy reading about medieval adventures, then this is a book for you. With vivid imagery, Mr. Nelson weaves the tale of Andre and his band of knights, and Alfred, an older knight who joins them on their mission. Their mission begins when Juliette, Andre's betrothed, is abducted by the fierce king, Ullerick. While in pursuit of Ullerick, Sir Alfred regales the young knights with tales of his life. He describes many great battles, and loves, won and lost. Throughout all these tales, what remains steadfast is his commitment to honor and duty. As with most tales, good does eventually triumph over evil, but not without a price.
While I enjoyed the story, I felt there was a bit too much focus on the battles and would have preferred more development of the Andre/Juliette story as well as the relationship between the knights. However, if you are more interested in adventure and epic battles than romance, I think you will find this a very good read.
