They couldn’t tell where they were. Their immediate reaction was to the cold. Maria was right, it was cold on this side. Fortunately, they all had on their uniforms and could regulate their body temperatures. “Don’t stray,” Anthony warned. “We don’t know what we’re facing.” They were so caught up with looking at where they were, no one looked back. When they did, they could not see anything that would lead them back. All they saw, was a block of leaded glass on piles of wooden pallets. They were in some kind of building, but they couldn’t tell what. The light was dim and hazy. For a moment, they waited, trying to communicate with Maria, but nothing happened. When they saw someone open a door, they hid behind stacks of boxes and tried to find their way to the front of the building. Creeping along a wall, they made their way to the door and Tori was able to open the door and they ran. Once they made it out the door, they were stumped. There was a virtual forest of overgrown plants of weird shapes and smells and there did not appear to be a path of any kind. When they heard someone coming, they attempted to hide behind a tree, but didn’t quite make it. “Come out!” a voice said. They peeped out from behind the tree and saw who they thought for a moment was Maria. Tori was about to jump out and grab her, but Anthony pulled her back. “That’s not Maria,” he whispered. “Look closely.” “Look, we’re not going to hurt you. You can come out,” the voice said again. Derek stepped forward. “Who is we?” he asked, looking around for other people. “My friends!” said the voice. “Hello, what’s your name?” she said. “I’m Derek. Who are you?” “I am Ramar,” she answered. “Who are the others and how did you get here?” “The others are Tori, Jiao, Kiara and Anthony. Where are we?” “This is the So-Shun Forest. We often come here to play.” “Have you seen another girl who looks a lot like you?” Anthony asked, coming from behind his tree. “Not today. But there are many people who end up here and some stay.” “That is not good. Did you see an older Chinese man here earlier?” “There are lots of Chinese men here. We are in China,” she giggled. The others came out from hiding and then Ramar’s friends came into view. They stared at each other in wonder. There was a boy who looked like Derek, one who looked like Anthony, a girl who looked like Kiara and one who looked like Tori. When Ramar introduced them, most of their names were almost exact opposite of their own. The differences were their eyes and they wore no pendants. “How do you look like us? Derek said. “Everyone who comes here meets their other self,” Ramar explained. “You are on the other side of reality.” The rest of them giggled, but it was not a pleasant sound. “What do you mean—the other side of reality?” Anthony asked. “There is no other side to reality.” “Of course there is,” Ramar said. “You’re here. And so is Natony—your other self.”

This book is "spot on". It addresses the times we are living in today. Good vs. evil and how good "ALWAYS" triumphs over evil in the end. (Rom 12:21)
I purchased this book, the second day of it's release. It was so good I did not stop reading it until I finished it. The book is a great read for adults (especially those that are young at heart). Individuals who are not young at heart will find this book to be insightful regarding our youth and their ability to do good to benefit mankind.
It is, definitely, an excellent read for our youth. It will let them know, no matter what their age or their circumstances in life, they can make a positive impact for the world. As long as, they don't give up (doing good) and they are motivated by:"LOVE"!!!
The author and her collaborator did an excellent job with the storyline and the communication of the youth. Great job! I highly recommend reading this book.
