The main characters are a beautiful heroine, a handsome hero and a dastardly villain, but readers will also experience a fine supporting cast of players, exotic locations as well as some sexy scenes, tastefully created.
Recently published adult romance novels have focused on stories about kinky or in childhood abused young billionaires either manipulating or controlling an ingénue or otherwise vulnerable female character. This is where this novel sets itself apart. The main female and male character (aged late thirties and early forties), who fall in love, are equals. Both are beautiful, inside and out, successful and are amazing human beings on all levels. Although the novel contains enticing and seductive erotic scenes, they are in the context of a beautiful love story and do not include profane language or overtly graphic descriptions. The third main character is another attractive, successful man who some readers may see as the villain and others may sympathize with what he is going through and feel sorry for him.
The suspense plot is unpredictable and there are other dramatic surprises. The subplot is emotional and uplifting at the same time.

First Class Novel
“Desperate Pursuit in Venice” contains within its pages all the ingredients of a first class erotic thriller – a beautiful heroine, a handsome hero, a dastardly villain, a fine supporting cast of players, exotic locations as well as some sexy scenes, tastefully created. It was a breath of fresh air to read a novel free of any bad language, which, in this day and age, takes consummate skill to achieve. One can even feel sympathy for the villain of the plot such is the author’s ability. For her first venture into writing a novel, Karynne Summars has accomplished what other new authors can only dream of: an excellent read. I am on tenterhooks now, waiting for the sequel in order to discover what lies ahead for Kataryna and Luca.

The perfect book if you need a mental break. The author slowly but surely lures you into a world of beauty and seduction. Secret desires and dreams become reality. And before you know you can't lay this book aside anymore because desires and dreams always have their twists and turns. The pain, the exhaustion, the adrenaline; its all here, a fast-pulse read. The exciting life of Kataryna makes this a fascinating read.

The author writes in a ravishing imaginative style and with a lot of suspense!
She describes the beautiful scenery of Lake Como in the most brilliant colors with a lot of romance and stimulating sex scenes which inspire you to spice up your love life; no rough graphic sex, just very seductive and sophisticated!
I am really looking forward to the continuation in the sequel. There certainly will be more exciting blasts again in this family drama.
The clear and concise writing of the author enabled me to fully understand the book even with my limited English language abilities.
