The title, "Tunguska" suggests the book is all about the explosion in Russia, but that is not the case. There are other inexplicable events that occur regularly in various parts of the world.

The Bermuda Triangle is an area of mystical notoriety, but it is not the only one. There are several, and the interesting fact is that they are all located on the same line of latitude and spaced equidistantly.

The disappearance of the 504-foot T-2 tanker Marine Sulphur Queen near the Florida Keys in February 1963 is one of the most famous mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle. It was only a year after her disappearance that Vincent Gaddis, inspired by her much publicized loss, coined the term “Bermuda Triangle.” As the largest ship to vanish in recent times (pre-1964), she became a central figure in the soon-to-be popular Bermuda Triangle phenomenon.  Although the image created for her of placid seas is erroneous, her disappearance is far from easily explainable

UFOs are another source of unexplained events and sightings. Even in the face of corroborated evidence of professional pilots and air crew, the official explanation dismissed the reports out of hand. These are reports from professional men who had put their careers on the line!

The mysterious explosion in Russia is an event that was not investigated for over 20 years. When explorers did finally find the site what they discovered shocked them. Hundreds of square miles of pine forest burnt and flattened in a pattern radiating from the epicentre of the blast. They had no explanation for what caused such devastation. Many years afterwards scientists could only come up with a meteor as the culprit. The only problem with such a glib explanation is that we now know there were eye witnesses to the thing that exploded causing a shock wave to travel around the world twice!
