A thoroughly good book
A 7 week trip traveling to various Far East locations, providing a little bit on each stop, because that was what the trip was, 2 or 3 days in each location. I enjoyed the author's writing style (in my case, I often TRY to read someone's travel book, but get quickly bored by their writing style, and give up. I kept reading right to the end, and would definitely read another travel book by Jason Smart. He is down to earth, doesn't take on hoity-toity airs, doesn't whine or complain, can laugh at his own misadventures during the trip.
Yet another Gem from Jason Smart
Ive read a few of Jason Smarts books and they never fail to engage me in his travels. This time he and Angela are on their travels around Bangkok, Bali and Borneo.. The food is always a major part of travel and to be honest a lot of it leaves alot to be desired! Hence the title of the book ! The authors amusing fixation with a loo seat in Tokyo is funny.. just how many times can you need to flush a loo ?? I really enjoyed this book.. I feel as if Ive been on the trip myself . great stuff.
Great reading a book you won't want to put down
I have read three travel books by this author and enjoyed them all, his style is so straight forward and although he does not have to rough it by staying in hotels with his wife he still has quite a few uncomfortable experiences. There is a lot of humour in his accounts as well, this is a book that I did not want to put down, By reading this I almost felt I was with them on the journey, great.
