Seizing the opportunity, Tucker sauntered over to her and placed his arms on either side of her. Her heart raced as his fingers almost touched her face, but he changed his mind at the last minute. Instead, he gripped the counter top and his gaze dropped to her lips. Any sadness from their conversation was long forgotten as she waited, frozen in place and afraid to breathe as she waited for his lips to touch hers.
“I remember your wild side. Is it still there?” His lips hovered a hair’s width above hers, close enough that she could feel his breath.
She wanted him to kiss her. All she had to do was put her hand behind his head and draw him to her, she could already taste him. Knowing that he wanted to kiss her as much as she wanted to kiss him made heat spread throughout her body, before settling in her core.
“I think it depends on the adventure.” The tip of her tongue moistened her lips in anticipation and Tucker’s work roughened fingers brushed her cheek. Ever so slowly he leaned forward, his lips making the barest of contact. A jolt of lightening arched between them, stunning the pair with its shock. Maggie put her hands on his shoulders and kissed him back, reveling in the long missed feeling of her lips touching his. The kiss wasn’t nearly enough as she pressed closer to him and placed her hand in the thick hair between his ears, deepening the kiss. She shivered as she felt his growing erection press against her stomach and was stunned by how much she still wanted him, and how much she had missed him. She hadn’t expected the intensity of her desire and it was both thrilling and terrifying. Savoring the exquisite taste of him, she couldn’t resist tracing his bottom lip with her tongue. He broke their kiss and touched his forehead to hers, boring his eyes into hers. Her hand moved to the smooth muscles of his chest and she clenched her fingers just enough to really feel the smooth contours under his shirt. His hand clasped over hers holding it over his rapidly beating heart, proving his reaction to her. She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, filling her senses with his spicy mixture of earth and clay. With a sigh of regret, she flattened her palm and gently pushed him back a step, knowing that it wasn’t right to give into their attraction, not when there was so much more that she needed to say.
