With colorful images and full-color photographs, Mojica explores what you can discover about the famous Intrepid. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about United States history, naval history and more. The simplicity of how Barbara Ann Mojica shares the information makes it easy to go back and pick out different pieces to research further. This is not a book to read through quickly and stick on a shelf. Even more exciting is the realization that Little Miss HISTORY is a series, so there are other books to explore.
5 Stars A great read for reluctant young historians by Kinsman Book Gang
I'm a real fan of the Little Miss History books, and author Barbara Ann Monica has produced yet another fine book to add to the collection. This one is especially likely to appeal to all the many youngsters out there who love boats, planes and submarines - they will lap up a good helping of history without even realising it!
Combining real photographs with complementary illustrations, this book gives a colourful portrayal of the history of the famous Intrepid aircraft carrier, as well as showing the exciting exhibitions that this museum ship now holds. The fact that kids can touch and interact with these exhibits, as well as find out lots about U.S. naval history from them, is sure to get kids who live anywhere near New York clamouring for a visit.
For those of us who live further afield, Little Miss History does a splendid job at allowing us an interesting virtual tour of the museum, interacting with many of the exhibits on our behalf.
I especially like that Little Miss History even finds a moment to mention past racial wrongs being righted in modern times, with one young black sailor receiving the Navy Cross 50 years after his outstanding display of bravery during WW2.
A great read for reluctant young historians, and also a great book to either anticipate or remember a visit to this wonderful museum. I know that if I'm ever in New York then this ship will now be on my tick list of places to see. I hope the Intrepid gift shop are stocking this gem.

Another fabulous book in the Little Miss History series by Barbara Ann Mojica! INTREPID is filled with rich history, the actual names of men, with their illustrations, who gave their lives to this vessel, men who used it to to explore and recover and fight for our freedom every one of them who helped change history, and men we may not have even known before. Every bit of this important history should be known by all of us, as well as the history contained within this imaginative historical book -- child and adult alike!
The rich and real illustrations shine and Little Miss History is as dauntless as ever, as she takes us on this amazing historical journey of the ship INTREPID, with her sass and gusto. Pretty smart gal!
I continue to believe that Little Miss History would make a wonderful animated series for kids and adults alike making history sing and come alive for us all!
