Cindy Freland's JORDAN THE JELLYFISH offers adventure and important lessons
Everyone loves an adventure, no matter what your age. In JORDAN THE JELLYFISH by Cindy Freland we are treated to not just the story of a jellyfish trying to find its way but some of the lessons it learns along the way.

Freland gives you the story of Jordan, a jellyfish who accidentally causes harm yet really only wants to get back where she belongs. Along the way she meets new friends, offers assistance to others and even learns an important lesson about not making a big deal over things that don't really matter.

The story takes some turns along the way, but in the end I really enjoyed the way that Jordan's search for home and desire to help were presented in a way that readers can use them as lessons for young listeners.

The other element to Freland's book, however, are the facts that she delivers about the Chesapeake Bay and the role of some of the animals in the way that we might not know too much about. This serves to offer lessons for the adults reading the book to pass on to the listener and others, helping them to understand that everything has a purpose.

Filled with great illustrations and some important lessons, JORDAN THE JELLYFISH is something I think will bring some enjoyable reading.

Jordan the Jellyfish: A Chesapeake Bay Adventure series written by Author Cindy Freland was a joy to read. This story was filled with adventure, excitement and the unexpected. Jordan the Jellyfish finds herself on an ocean adventure after getting lost, trying so desperately to find her way back home to her Jellyfish family.

During her quest to find her way back home, she accidentally stings a human girl unintentionally and feels very badly about it. She meets wonderful ocean friends on her journey trying to find her way back home; Arthur the Anchovie and Curtis the Crab (just to name a few). Jordan the Jellyfish story line was so creatively written. Any child with a big imagination would love to read this book! This book is also very educational as it has historical excerpts on the right side of the pages to teach the child and parents about the Chesapeake Bay. What a great mixture of adventure, imagination, and an educational tool to teach children about historical events too. Finally, the message to parents at the end of book is a MUST read! :) So many great messages in this book. Well thought out story Excellent work Author, Cindy Freland!
