In Sirocco, Storm over Land and Sea: a thriller, Ms. Borg creatively weaves elements of fiction into the harsh reality of the Egyptian revolution. She adroitly spins a web of political intrigues, double-dealings, tomb robbing, treason, murder and romance.

This well-written plot of the Legend of the Winged Scarab, Book 2 of 5, is, at once, informative for its wealth of research. Entertaining for the thrill it confers through latent danger and violence. Illuminating for its depiction of timeless vistas and people. And engaging through the believable portrayal of characters as diverse in their thoughts and feelings as the mysterious land of the pharaohs.

While looking forward to reading book 1, 3, 4, and 5 of the Legend, I am giving Sirocco, Storm over Land and See, a well-deserved five-star rating.


ancient discoveries... murder... kidnapping...?!?!?
While I had read The Nile Conspiracy (Book 5 in the Winged Scarab series) first, I still very much enjoyed this book as it gave me a clearer picture on the relationships between Naunet and Jonathan as well as with Bill and Jabari. I had a hard time putting this book down as the writing certainly took me away!

Inge H. Borg writes a beautiful yet complex story with a little bit of everything: political intrigue, archaeologists, romance, con man, rogues, government officials, and nature's fury! What more could you want? She weaves these elements together seamlessly until you are caught up, not wanting to stop because you need to know what happens next! We have lovable characters, despicable ones... and some where we're not too sure of at times. I can not tell you more - you need to read it for yourself to enjoy the twists and turns!

The author definitely understands the culture and conveys it to us so we can understand it. She is indeed knowledgeable about her subject, and she relates them to us in a way that enhances our enjoyment of the story. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and the author's writing in that I definitely want to read more of her work!


Egyptian mystery must read!!!
A great read, finished in one cold winter weekend. Fast moving and completely absorbing. If you love Egyptian history, this mystery is a must read.
