‘The Bell Ringing Woman’ (2015) by Nithin Purple embarks from a mystic mind (of the Narrator) who was guided by a woman of Inspiration; literally he called ‘The Bell Ringing Woman’. When he sat pondered in his drawing room, a flash of fire clasped his mind and took him into far worlds of wonders. The ardent mind of him with emergent passion led him travel with a great pleasure. The narrator began to tell his mind’s reflection, so as to make the journey a hopeful, philosophical and revolutionary with the extraordinary and direful visions he had. The book was conceived with his greatest warmth of mind. The iconic travel was with the aid of an external soul (‘The Bell Ringing Woman’); who communicated deeply with a human spirit (narrator of the story). The narrator beautifully tells the story with some by past flavors of antiquity, he considered ‘The Bell Ringing Woman’ as an icon of the present world’s courageous femininity, who takes the narrator into four European countries like Ancient Greece, Cultural Italy, pastoral Ireland and Revolutionary Germany. There are four different incidents occurring throughout their travel in a Golden Chariot drawn by two powerful horses. The journey was far above the vault of the skies, as it is a journey of imagination itself, limitless.

'The Bell Ringing Woman' tolls his inspiration from behind the paths of his travel; he reaches the European World as his insight travels. He moves across the Mediterranean and finds pastoral Greece and ponders with dreams, where he cries for his lost love in the midst of a reality like dream. He wakes from bed and searches her, but couldn't see her, then says adieu to her with the relief that 'The Bell Ringing Woman' is with him.He visits Italy and sees Florence, where the talisman of European renaissance once rested. He has to move to Ireland, where he reaches Aran Islands, describes his sins in life, and finds remorse by an Irish Priest, who gives him a new life. After leaving there 'The Bell Ringing Woman' guides him to Germany, where he becomes a 'Nature Lover',he has direful views about Revolution, Demolishing World,Politics,Enmity and Religious Riots. There he was killed by a dream. The journey is literally ‘a mystic soul to human communication.’

Excerpt

“My gloominess, which sat with me in a corner of the chariot , O’, I speculated it was ‘myself ’ the ‘gloomy one’ and remembered the past occasions I cried, sitting idle, as an insatiate appetite. The skies, the nature, the air, the snow, the rainbow they all are my wonders ever and I oddly wandered to know the causes of their formation. There in my boyhood days the World aroused a ‘curiosity’ in my brains and I chased the World with mystery’s letters I ever wrote.”

Professional Reviews

Angela Hayes
‘The Bell Ringing Woman’ convinced me in several ways to point out the facts around. She was guiding my ‘pounding soul’ to the edge of a goal. Then she outlooked the very pleasant nature of the Arcadia and opined about her views, which are dancing with Nature’s rustic laughter. The green oaks and laurels paved with frozen snow, and the wind whistled for the joyous harmony song of winter.”

“When I presented my mind to ‘The Bell Ringing Woman’ — unconcealed, she applauded and insured more visions of insight in high configuration. I determined it was an Imaginary flambeau, which guided me to far worlds of wonders. Whilst reaching the heart of Europe I noticed the world had changed into an odd and eccentric track. Religion became the shake scene of the universe.”

“The passion had never become unclear in me— never in my life, but it promoted me to enquire and find a solution for the problems. Such a way the chariot of ‘The Bell Ringing Woman’ guided me in the extreme stages of my life. She gave me a hidden Shrine to worship and dedicate my heart upon. She gave wide range of prophecy; it was the knowledge about the past, present and the future, as she took me in her chariot into an old world and from there to the new helpless society. I have seen a stirring star in life. Here— there it climbs upon me like a tendril fiber, cloudy though inspiration was buried inside, yet it wakes in me the time it deserves. I longed to cross the universe with a line transport; an imaginary line which connects the Palaces and Antique hills; Imagination is a silver line that never breaks.”

The Bell Ringing Woman: A Blue Bell of Inspiration by Nithin Purple is a very original ‘journey’ that takes the reader on a bit of a mystical, magical tour- a bit of a ‘vision quest’ or metaphysical journey where we explore life, struggles, finding meaning, love, loss, hope, inspiration, passion, and more.
The Bell Ringing Woman also brings to mind the folklore of bell-ringing/bell-ringers as messengers, announcing important moments or upcoming developments. All this was choreographed skilfully with Nithin Purple’s lyrical, poetic and somewhat flowery prose. There is a definite philosophical feel to the story- one of life and universal consciousness. It isn’t an easy read- there is much to consider and ponder over the course of our journey. I picked it up and put it down several times, while I contemplated what I had just read. It definitely made me think. While I did enjoy the journey- I am left to wonder if English is Nithin Purples first language- because occasionally there were moments where I felt things may have been ‘lost in translation’. Otherwise it was a great change of pace for me- and would definitely suit readers who love poetry, or philosophical explorations.
I look forward to reading more of Nithin Purples work in the future.

Thank you, Nithin Purple!

Pamela Hope De Luca
Nithin Purple is an amazing young author who is able to share his appetite for travel, whether in real life or within his psyche, along with his passion for adventure. He relates this beautifully in his new book, The Bell Ringing Woman. I wish I could be in his head and have some of his dreams and write them as prophetically and historically brilliant as he does. Fantasy? Past Life? Psychic Dimension? Read this book and come to your own conclusions.
