Fantastic Adventure Through Time!
In this first novel of heroine Vic Challenger, Jerry Gill has written a breathtaking book that is part Indiana Jones, part Clan of the Cave Bear, and as thrilling an adventure as I can ever remember reading!

Victoria Custer, a 1920’s explorer and adventurer from Nebraska has dreams of a past life. A looong past life. She feels a strange connection to a cave girl warrior named Nat-ul and her beloved Nu, who lived 100,000 years ago. Or did they? Victoria, or “Vic,” is drawn to exotic lands, and whether in Africa, Mexico, or points in between, always seems to find a way to get into - and instinctively out of - trouble. Accompanied by her brother, she seeks the next big thrill while also looking for answers to what may have been her past.

The best historical fiction novels make you want to learn more about the time and places, and if the novel weren’t so fascinating, I would have stopped to research as often as I read (I did have to see what a Peccary is. I want one.). Helpfully, at the end, there are several notes concerning things mentioned in the book. Mr. Gill has done his homework.

I haven’t been so excited to find a new series since reading a random Robert B. Parker Spenser novel many years ago. Very well written and exciting, Time Doesn’t Matter is a novel adventure-seekers need to read!

Great read
Vic: Time Doesn't Matter is an excellent adventure story with and strong and very well written female lead. An action packed story that I couldn't put down once I had started reading. Having 2 separate timelines so far apart in a story can be difficult to get right, but the author manages it very well. Vic's memories of Nu are great, however, it is Vic's own adventures across the world that I really enjoyed about the book. This is an excellent start to what looks to be a very exciting series.

Fast paced action that will have you gripped!
If you are looking for a fresh read then I will recommend the Vic Challenger series. I picked up book number four initially and enjoyed it so much I had to go back and read Time Doesn’t Matter which is the first in the series. I have enjoyed both books immensely, the series is very original and I would imagine them to have a cult following. In this first book of the series, as with book 4 I found an eclectic mix of characters, fast paced action and an exciting narrative style which leaves the reader unable to put the book down.

Jerry Gill is a proficient storyteller; she writes well and weaves an excellent yarn. The opening chapter is epic and almost cinematic with its vivid descriptions, a clever technique as the author immediately pulls the reader into her world and once she has your attention she doesn’t let go! Gill’s writing style is both epic and lush, as a reader you have to let go and allow yourself to become immersed when you are reading a book like this, it is pure escapism and is an absolute must for comic books fans.

The best thing about this series is undoubtedly Vic our time travelling heroine, she is feisty and strong with a razor sharp mind. I have said this in a previous review but would love to see a Vic Challenger Anime series; I think it would be amazing. To try and place this series in a genre is difficult it crosses so many from fantasy, suspense, historical fiction and comic books. Great read, recommended!
