Being different can be a great thing, even when you are purple. This one of my favorite kids books simply because it is a "sweet" book, has a great lesson and I (and a couple of young ones that I read it to) honestly think there is something wonderful about the illustrations, the just seem real.

I just read this to my son and he smiled throughout the entire book as did I. I love the pictures and the message of the book it is just wonderful. Everybody needs friends. Well written and well illustrated!

This was a sad little story about life's unfortunate behaviors. It teaches young children to accept their differences and those of others. The illustrations were cute and imaginative. The author certainly poured her heart into the story. I believe this story can help children with acceptance. I like how the author captured the reader's attention and kept it throughout the story
