There is a battle going on between good and evil, light against the darkness. Do you know your enemy? Are you equipped to do battle?
God reveals His truth to His children in whom He dwells inside. For God, whom dwells in me, has shown me many things in these last days that I should tell the world about.
1 John 4: 15 “Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.”
This book is to expose light of the truth about the spiritual battle that has been going on in this world from the beginning. Darkness hides from the truth and uses deceptions to confuse and confound those that cannot discern truth from untruth. Those that have the spirit of God dwelling inside them, have the ability to discern between truth and untruth. Somehow, either by sins or by not diligently seeking God for discernment, even children of God can fall to these deceptions.
God gives His children the ability to see darkness and gives one discernment to determine what one should do when one sees this darkness. God has given me a spiritual gift to discern His word and also to be able to discern the difference between darkness and God’s light that shines in this world.

The title of this book is the first phrase of a passage in the Word of God that reflects what this world is faced with since the fall in the Garden of Eden. The passage is as follows:
Ephesians 6: 12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
For those that are not Christians, this verse doesn’t make much sense. To understand this as well as the complete context of scripture, one must have the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of them to help interpret the words of the Most High God. The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Triune Godhead. He has been given to each believer in Jesus Christ as an earnest gift to help to grow in holiness which is known as “sanctification” as well as to help each Christian to endure the “wiles of the devil” and his dominion.
Ephesians 1:13-“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”
Ephesians 6: 11 “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
To better understand what is meant by “wiles of the devil”, one must research the scriptures and understand what the “wiles of the devil” is and what it is capable of as well as incapable of. This will better assist one to know the capabilities of the power that is possessed by each Christian in whom is empowered with the Holy Spirit of God.
In the Holy Scriptures, one needs to first look at the Book of Genesis to find what actually happened to the world to bring it to this battle between good and evil or light and darkness. When one looks at chapter three in Genesis, one can find that the fall of mankind changed everything.
What was it that the serpent used to entice Eve to disobey God? What was it that made him so believable? In Genesis 3:1, the serpent (Satan) was described as more “subtil”. This can be interpreted as Strong’s H6175 `aruwm, which is subtle, shrewd, crafty, sly, sensible. One can see the shrewdness that he uses when he outsmarts Eve to thinking of herself and her own fleshly desires rather than for her loyalty to God.
Genesis 3:1: “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”
Genesis 3: 4 “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”
Reading on in Genesis 3, one can see that Eve fell to the three sinful temptations which even has caused mankind to fall through the generations to the present age. Eve falls victim to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and to the pride of life. Satan has used these three temptations to influence many through the ages to stumble and fall. A majority of these people never got back up to walk with God and died in their sins and are now waiting in hell for their final judgment in the future.
Genesis 3: 6 “And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”
1 John 2: 16 “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
Adam was then in agreement with Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit and it was for his sin that mankind and creation had been cursed. Though Eve sinned as she was deceived, that sin was not the sin that caused the fall of mankind. Adam’s sin of knowingly disobeying God and eating of the forbidden fruit is the cause of the fall of mankind and the creation. The world, due to the sin of Adam, is in a fallen state and mankind then walks in a sinful, fleshly, fallen body. God had given His judgment for the sin in the Garden of Eden to Satan and mankind. The verse in Genesis 3:15 is critical to understand.
Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”
God announces to Satan that he will be at enmity between “his seed” and “her seed”. This verse becomes the first prophecy of the Bible. It is very deep in meaning and gives mankind the first glimpse of hope after the fall in the Garden of Eden. To look closer at this verse, one can look at the Hebrew word for “enmity” which is 'eybah. This can be translated as “hatred”. So Satan and his “seed” along with the woman and her “seed” shall have hatred towards one another.
Interestingly enough, many will protest the thought that angels can procreate. From what God is saying in Genesis 3:15, it seems that Satan, as the serpent, does have a “seed” which is used for procreation. The chapter called “the Sons of God” will bring to light the result of this prophecy as Satan’s angels have used their “seed” here on the earth.
Now historically, in the Old Testament, men were known for their “seed” in the bringing of offspring. What did God mean by “her seed”? As one continues through the Old Testament, one will find hundreds of prophecies of a coming “messiah” or savior. God gave mankind a clue to Genesis 3:15 through a prophecy in Isaiah 7:
14 “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
One can see that the “seed” of the woman was actually a prophecy of a virgin birth. There is no seed coming from a man! Immanuel is translated “God with us”. What an amazing and encouraging proclamation to mankind! God himself would be born from a virgin and walk the earth. One can interpret the “woman and her seed” being Eve and her offspring, which is all of mankind, and one can also interpret this to be the virgin mother of Jesus Christ and the prophecy of the messiah to come.
In Genesis 3:15, the messiah was also prophesied to accomplish something very important. Satan, or the “serpent”, was to have his head crushed by the messiah…”it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” So the messiah was to come and win a major victory over Satan. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ was a victory over sin and death for mankind.
Since the judgment proclaimed against Satan in the Garden of Eden, Satan, and the angels that fell from heaven with him, have been at war against mankind and the rest of God’s creation.
Revelation 12: 3 “And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.”
The “dragon”, in Revelation chapter 12, is Satan and one can see that his tail “drew” one third of the “stars of heaven”. The Old Testament has used the expression “stars” to mean angels in Job 38:7” When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” Note that this same verse declares those stars to being “sons of God”. This is important to realize for an additional topic which will be discussed in a future chapter. In Genesis chapter 2 verse 1, the word of God proclaims the “host of them” when talking about the heavens and the earth. Genesis 2: “Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.” The word “host” is used in Genesis 2:1, which is defined by the Strong’s Concordance H6635 tsaba'; though it can mean “of sun, moon and stars” it is mostly used as “host (of organized army) or army of angels.” This is often referred to human armies. Heavenly host refers specifically to angelic beings (just as in Luke 2:13′s “heavenly host praising God” at Christ’s birth). It does not generally refer to celestial bodies, or to the cosmos in general. In the Bible, we are told not to worship the “heavenly host”, and God is declared “The Lord of Hosts” over 200 times. Unfortunately, modern theology almost always interprets the phrase “heavenly host” or “host of heaven” to mean the stars, planets, unless the context makes it absolutely unavoidable to do so. In Genesis 1:15-17, there is a completely different Hebrew word Strong’s 3552 kowkab, which is used to refer to literal stars.
With the victory that Jesus Christ had at Calvary on the cross, Satan has been condemned already by God and knows that his time is short before he will face his final punishment which was declared by God upon him.
Ezekiel 28: 14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffic; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.”
Satan will continue to be the “prince of this world” until Jesus Christ comes back to take back this world from him in His second coming. From the Garden of Eden, Satan then had an endeavor to prevent the birth of the messiah; this would cause God’s promise of redemption to be broken. One can only speculate that Satan’s condemnation would become void as well. As Satan knows He has lost, he desires to bring as many down with him as he possibly can. But what is Satan’s ultimate goal? There is a passage in scripture that enlightens one on what exactly this fallen angel desires. His pride that caused him to be cast out of heaven is still within him. He feels that he can be god and should be worshipped. Even though he has lost the war, he still battles on; he has actually deceived many to believe that he can still win!
Isaiah 14:12-“ How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.”
In the book of Genesis, one can see that there seems to be a spiritual chess match of moves and counter moves by God and Satan; this progresses on through the Old Testament. God calls out His elect to Him while those not called out to God, become weak to their flesh and its desires. Satan and his dominion can influence the thoughts and tempt mankind as each one struggles with these fleshly desires.
The first murder ever committed is mentioned in Genesis chapter four. Genesis chapter four does not really say that there was any outside influences to the murder of Abel by his brother Cain. In this situation, neither Cain nor Abel, neither Adam nor Eve, knew exactly what death really was. Cain acted out an aggression that had never been done before. How did he know that if he struck Abel that Abel would die? Obviously, Cain felt his flesh and the resentment that he had for his brother, but how did he know that aggression was going to be his answer or release of his anger? Was there a thought or two manipulated by a supernatural voice from Satan? One can only conclude that there had to be a fiery dart or two shot at Cain as his countenance fell.
Genesis 4: 8 “And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.”
Ephesians 6: 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
