Another Fabulous Book in the Winning Odds Series
A brilliant continuation of the Winning Odds Series. As with the other books in this series, Wire to Wire allows the reader to instantly pick up where the previous book left off. It continues with all of our favorite characters at Meg's Meadow and their concern for making the racing environment better for the horses. Great ideas, in my opinion, are mentioned for making racing safer for 2 year olds. It is always what is best for the horse, and I love that. One thing that I like best about this series of books is that things are realistic as it concerns the racetrack and horse racing. Some of the not so great things related to horse racing are covered, but not in graphic, gory detail. I was not ready for this book to end, and cannot wait to find out what happens next. I have grown to love the characters. The story never has a dull moment. Ready for Book #6!
Another Winner from MaryAnn Myers
Each time I read one of MaryAnn Myers' books I am amazed at how quickly I become engrossed in the several stories that are masterfully woven together. And when the book ends, I want to know more about all the people and horses I've grown to know and love.
There's Ben, the patriarch who is revered for his wisdom and kindness.
And all the other residents of Meg's Meadow are there as well to captivate the reader.
One section I especially loved was a discourse by Pastor Mitchell on his beliefs that he shared with the disenchanted local coroner.
I had to read that section twice!
But in truth, the whole book is worth reading more than once. I read it through quickly at first to see what will happen next. And now I must go back to savor all the nuances I missed the first time.
I look forward to the second reading as much as I did the first.

Yes - I want more! I love this story and enjoy following the trials and tribulations of all the characters. I can't wait for the next chapter of the story. Actually - I had to double check that I was truly at the end - I was really into it. I love books that get you so wrapped up in the story that you don't want to put it down and this author does a great job of that.
