Wonderfully Relaxing Read
As good as the first book-characters who keep your interest. Loved it! Deer & horses, what could be better for horse lovers!? A great get away adventure without being unrealistically perfect. Hope another book follows.
A Fun Winter Adventure
Equine author, Mary Ann Myers, updated her first Maple Dale book with Maple Dale Revisited. But this is not so much a horse story as it is an adventure with young Mindy and her older sister, Bethann, and friends who try to save a small herd of hungry deer during a long winter storm.
Scenes are detailed and characters are likable. The horse stable setting is realistic and in the end conflicts (both human and nature) are resolved. The possibility of a ghost adds to the suspense.
This Book is Worth Many Future Revisits
MaryAnn Myers picks up 15 years into the future. We are able to check on Bethann and learn what has come of this young woman that we fell in love with in Maple Dale. New characters, including Bethann's husband, bring joy, humor and that warm feeling from meeting people you like.
As I read this wonderful story, I realized MaryAnn Myers was sharing sharing something with me that went so much deeper. Her story touched me to think of the people in my life. Who we meet and friends we keep along the way define who we are and what we do with our life...Leah Oliver touched many lives and we learn that this circle of touching reaches beyond Maple Dale...Sassie Susie has a bit of Leah in her as well.
There is magic from the horses in this work and Bethann's heart is filled in two ways as the story comes to a conclusion.
Well done MaryAnn ..... WELL DONE. This is a must read for anyone who enjoyed Maple Dale and is so much more than just a horse story -- this is a story for all of us who enjoy spending time around the barn and for those of us who have ever felt the need to help someone or something in need! If I could I would give this book more than 5 stars!
