Great near future aliens sci-fi story, proffessional production values.
Okay, I am a sci-fi fan, and fan of choices - this book is well written as though a professional publishing house author (as far as grammar and spelling) if there were any errors they were too rare and minor to catch my attention.
The book flowed fairly well. Lots of action but enough discourse and non-violent events, that it didn't feel like it was just about the action.
I am not convinced that the final choice of the main characters was the choice *I* could see myself making but their reasoning was reasonable for them given their backgrounds and motivations.
The story ends well too, closing up most of the plot threads, but leaving just enough loose for your own imagination (or, better, the sequel that is already out there...)
Unlike a lot of the cheap amazon sci-fi stories this one felt like something a major publishing house would produce, and is good enough to put on the shelf next to Heinlein or Asimov.

A Great Choice to read
All I had to do is get past the first 3 pages and then I was hooked. I was immediately surprised by how the authors managed to hold up a mirror reflecting humans as well as they did. The end of the book was a little abrubt like the authors had a time or space limit but the overall total enjoyment gained from this book totally out weighed that minor issue. Having read books by both authors before, I knew this one was going to be good. If you are looking for high-brow science fiction, forget it. If you are looking for a good story where the good guys win in the end this is your cup of tea. Thanks Dr. Taylor and Mr. Bain for a thoroughly good story.
