Have you felt the pain and shame of criticism? If you are like me, you have; so I’ve written this little book to show you that you are not alone and, more importantly, this book offers practical advice and simple techniques to help you beat criticism and feel good.

When were you last criticized? A week ago, a few days ago, or was it yesterday? And why were you criticized? Or to phrase it another way, what was wrong with you? Were you playing music too loudly, taking someone for granted? Were you too fat, too untidy, spend thrifty, distracted, late, or were you simply wearing the wrong outfit?

Have you felt the pain and shame of criticism? If you are like me, you have; so I’ve written this little book to show you that you are not alone and, more importantly, this book offers practical advice and simple techniques to help you beat criticism and feel good.

Loving, constructive criticism can be helpful, but let’s face it, how much criticism is truly constructive? Oftentimes receiving criticism is unnecessary and hurtful. If you feel like you are drowning from being told what’s wrong with you, it may be time to say “Enough!” Isn’t it time to reclaim your power and beat criticism? We all deserve to feel good. It’s our natural state of being.

Professional Reviews

A Simply Superb Self-Help Book
As an academic, I was a bit skeptical before I began reading a self-help book. However, after reading this book I was very nearly left wordless and that doesn’t happen often. Awen Finn has managed to give us something special, “How to Beat Criticism and Feel Good: Learn to shrug it off and move forward.” This book is written in an honest, intelligent and succinct manner, and in doing so, I believe it will be helpful to everyone from adolescents to even those in the field of psychology. Awen has presented thoughtful insight into criticism and some new ideas about dealing with criticism.

While reading this book, I began to reexamine my past and present and think of the future. My mother’s side of the family was/are very negative people. Naturally, I had a very strong emotional reaction while reading, but thanks to the author, I’ve started to think from new perspectives. So you can’t simply read the words, but you have to use the words and examine yourself and the other people in your life.

“How to Beat Criticism and Feel Good: Learn to shrug it off and move forward” gets my full approval.

I have been looking for a book like this for ages
What an empowering book!! I have been looking for a book like this for ages. A fantastic easy read where Awen uses her unique voice to reach out to the individual and provide them with simple techniques on how to control negative criticism, which I am sure we have all received at one time or another. If you are tired of hearing negative criticism and want to do something about it this book is a must read for you.

A must-have book for everyone
Anyone reading this book cannot fail to recognize themselves in it. Awen accurately identifies what happens to all of us under criticism, whether it be self criticism or that from others and then gives us the power to deal with it. You don't have to be an expert in the subject to get empowerment out if it. I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. Anwen, I can't wait to read you next book!
