I couldn't forget that church supper. As usual, Aunt Tillie warned us that her banana salad was not up to par.
With my usual obnoxious teen-age wisdom, I laughed. "It's not a salad," I informed them. "A salad is not pink.
The women stared. "My husband's niece," Aunt Tillie explained with a tight smile which should have warned me... but my own brilliance lead me to ruin.
