There is more to DEAD CITY than just zombies.
It is rather an allegory of our times that takes in the the divisive nature of our society as is often expressed through our politics. Pretty heavy stuff!
The dividing line is not religious, nor is it nationalistic. It is much simpler. The us and them of DEAD CITY are the living and the dead... or living challenged, not all of whom are zombies. You have your everyday spirits, poltergeists, and ghouls to round out the mix.
It would seem that every major city has its own Dead City. The one here is located in London. We are given glimpses of other Dead Cities... New York and Shanghai. There are huge, physical walls that separate the unliving from the living. See what I mean about an allegory for our times? And, there are more than just walls to equate with today's dirty politics.
