29-year-old Leila Black wants more out of life. Living with her friend Claudia, who seems to have it all, and their flatmate Jez, who is the life and soul of the party and has women dropping at his feet, she feels like she is being left behind. She also misses the father that left when Leila was just a baby.
Deciding to do something about her life, she makes two New Year Resolutions. One is to find and man to share her life with and the other is to find her father.
When her idea for a television show is accepted, Leila is delighted. The show is all about finding lost relatives and when she is given a starring role, it seems like things are on the up.
This new direction introduces her to a host of new people, including the good-looking Chris, who runs a charity for kids and eventually leads to her being reunited with her father.
Now living the celebrity high life and having everything she ever wanted, Leila is happier than ever. But some things are never meant to be. Leila is about to find out that her father isn’t the man she hoped for, and that celebrity status comes with a price.

‘Ok peeps, what ideas do we have this week? I need controversy, ratings winning and celebrities.’ He announces, eyes scanning the team. We all know that since the great Reality Bites we had yet to manage another hit, and the same tabloids who had once been such fans of Fast Frog were now describing our programmes as ‘recycled junk’ and less politely, ‘a pile of crap’. Ed one of the executive producers is the first to pitch in. ‘I was thinking about a format involving page 3 stunnas and crocodile wrestling.’ He leers. ‘Old story, It’s been done by ‘I’m a wannabe’ for years now.’ is Jools’s put down. Another red-blooded male Andrew pitches in. ‘How about a documentary following Poppy, top glamour model on holiday, you know real intimate fly on the wall stuff? Or even Poppy plus a bevy of glamour gals kind of like Marbella unearthed meets Hefner’s mansion.’ He suggests with a dreamy look in his eyes. ‘You seem to forget that Poppy has become plain old Jane Taylor again and found God!’ Jules reminds us. Celebrities are such a fickle bunch. ‘I’ve got one, celebrity diets! We put ten fat celebs in a house and test out different diets.’ This is the suggestion from Janet who herself is an expert, judging by the ribs showing through her tight top.
