One of my favorite scenes is the darkest moment where Lara internally must confront the strangle hold binding her to a past time. Writing the scene I lived the experience with Lara as she journeyed on an internal exploration of her life.
Excerpt
Through the misty drizzle, Rafe shook his head in astonishment at the silhouette of the woman waiting for him on the other side of the Canyon Arches. A sneer etched its way across his face at her irresponsibility.
She’d led the daemon right to the dimensional gate. Stepping through the portal, he grabbed her wrist, pulling her up the steep slope of the canyon wall, away from the worn path most tourists used. “Move it. You’re being followed.” His eyes darted toward the Southern edge of Fay Mountain. He figured the daemon was on Boynton Pass Road, not five hundred yards back.
The woman snarled back at him.
His lips twitched at the audacity to rebuff his command to run. Rafe cast a glamour spell to hide the entrance to the portal leading back into Sandovia, then took the female’s hand, and began dragging her through the brush to the canyon’s river. “Behave woman, the daemon intends to kill you before you…”
“Before I what?”
“Reignite the flame.” He hissed at her like she was completely witless.
She heaved, struggling to keep his pace. They moved up over the rugged terrain and came to a steep slope leading into the riverbed.
“Stop.” She dug her feet into the shrubbery, uprooting the ground cover. Rafe’s massive frame shook in disbelief. He didn’t intend to discuss the situation on the open trail. He snorted at the havoc of broken branches.
The woman had left a perfectly marked path for anyone to follow. He telepathically informed the forest nymph’s to divert the daemon from their trail, then, hoisting the female across his left shoulder, continued down the red rock formation to safety.
Fists pummeled his back.
He smiled and patted her curvy bottom. “Be still.” Her bare skin burned his shoulder, sending a tingle of pleasure to his groin. “Blast mi.” He whispered under his breath.
Danger existed on the mountain and Rafe wondered if her lips were as sweet as peaches, or as sour as unripe grapes. If she didn’t quiet soon, he’d have to find out.

FAIRIES RING

As Fairies Ring started out it was good but a little difficult to understand however as the story progressed it became clearer and got to be interesting with the more magikical involved intertwining with the growing love story.
The earth element I felt should have been explained a little more as it was used throughout the entire book. The element was used in a light (pun intended) that was tasteful and respected.
MY PERSONAL OPINION
NO HOLDING BACK
In my honest opinion this book is only an average book. I have read a lot worse out there. Do I think I will be reread this book? I doubt it. But it was fun to read this once. This is a book to read when you need to relax and have free time which I needed at this time.
And I am grateful for the chance that I was given to do a free review in exchange of this book.
The Fae Rafe despised humans, but found himself attracted to Lara, a human. Little did he know that they had a history together, and she too was mystified by her attraction to the fae. Together they were required to defend Sedona from the daemon that threatened to destroy the earth and all of its human inhabitants. A child seems to be the dangling toy the daemon wants to use to foil Rafe and Lara’s success in ousting him from his mission in destroying the earth. This is a story filled with shape shifters, demons, gnomes, fae, nymphs, pixies, sprites, shaman, angels, and humans, as the dimensions of the universe mingle and battle for dominance. The battles Rafe and Lara engage in to save the earth and Fae Nations combine with Indian legends, as they fight the darkest evil of all.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
I've been looking for a good paranormal romance and I was so happy when I found this one! It's just what I was looking for! Great plot that isn't the same old same old and it has a hot male lead. What more could I ask for? Oh, there is awesome banter between the two characters that reminds me a lot of JLA and I simply love it.
I also love the cover, I know, I'm THAT person. The one who likes the cheesy covers that most other don't. Well, I don't care what anyone thinks, I like it so it had a huge part in drawing me in. If the cover is keeping you from reading this novel, I say don't. The story is really good, don't miss out on it just because of the cover. As the old saying goes 'don't judge a book by it's cover'.
