Decrypto: Unlock Your Life Journey
David Gunner - FIVE STARS OUT OF FIVE
"Ever taken stock of your life and wondered what was missing? Checked every item on the list of happiness markers but still be unfulfilled and unhappy? Just like the book says, you may find that the thing missing could be you. At first glance, that statement makes absolutely no sense but think about it, if you are living life on the periphery, if you are ignoring your quintessence. Then, of course, you will be unhappy. Everyone needs to look deep inside themselves and understand who they truly are. What really is important to you? Are you able to find stillness, courage, joy, and creativity within you? Are you able to unravel that far hidden part of yourself?
To begin with, Linda went on a voyage for months after which she was lost and drowning in emotional turmoil. She then somehow picked u the pieces and found herself again. This guideline on how to find oneself is not a tutorial. It is the author holding your hand through every tumultuous bit of your journey. She understands the arduous task that is before you, having lived it herself. Therefore she knows just what you need to get through it. This is perhaps one of the most invaluable qualities of this book, the author, and her own journey. The book is empowering and strong. It is powerful and aggressively true.
For such a passionate subject matter, the author has reined it in just enough to get the message across. Passion could not be used as a crutch to pass off weak sentence structure and poor language. The book is very simply written. It is not fancy. The author has skillfully crafted sentences. The tone is just endearing enough. She reveals a useful amount of information about her encounters without being indiscreet. The reader will enjoy the smooth flow of prose. One will appreciate the silky texture of language and grammar used in this book.
This will probably not matter to some but the illustrations lend the book a whimsical quality that will be quite welcome to the rest. It is nothing too special but it is significant enough to lighten the mood when need be. Like that frilly cushion on the therapist’s settee. The author could have revealed more of herself. Been a little more vulnerable. Instead, she gives very brief peeks into her own life. On the other hand, this book feels a lot like a healing session. IT is especially wonderful for those who cannot go to her.
While most people are advised to leave the past in the past, this book goes a different way. It advises you to look into that past and make peace with it. Something that will help you leave the past in the past. Yet another gem from Decrypto.
The author does not claim to know all the answers, but she does hope that this book will be of help to you. Regardless of where you are in life, you could always use a deeper insight into your direction. This book will not give you the answers. It will help you find them yourself. Keep your mind open. Spread your arms. Receive healing.
Five stars out of five for Linda K Ford."
Decrypto: Unlock Your Life Journey
Decrypto: Unlock Your Life Journey, is an inspirational self-help book by Linda K. Ford. The author starts out with the author's introduction about themselves. We also learn that the book is inspired by the author finding the self. In it, Decrypto has information on why it is important to know and understand yourself. It also helps you “decrypt” or learn more about yourself to be able to reach the full potential and get over possible past traumas. Each chapter has information on the chapter topic, suggestions, and steps for self-searching, pages to take notes, quotes, and anecdotes to illustrate points.
Decrypto is a fast-paced book that is interesting and hard to put down and quickly grabbed my attention. Most chapters, the author gives us relevant information for the title of the chapter and each chapter has a notes section. Many self-help books that I have come across do not give you space within the book to take notes. Additionally, books like this often want you to purchase another whole book that comes with it to do the “work” in the book. This author, however, does not ask for an additional book purchase, but for you to keep a journal instead to complete the work.
I found the book to be well-organized, concise, and interesting. It was hard to put down. As you get further into the book, you get examples of people with their troubles and how they were solved. Decrypto continues throughout the book to give quotes, experiences of professionals, and instructions and suggestions on how to find oneself. The biggest aspect of the book, and what I found to be most important, is the author states not to use the book in replacement of professional help. I have read many self-help books, some of which were also mental health-related, and have not come across many who have made that statement. I think it incredibly important to have this added in the book.
One of my favorite parts of the book that resonated with me was the inaccuracies of thought chapter. I found it to be a solid chapter on how thoughts and emotions are connected and these thoughts can lead to feelings, especially negative ones. Understanding your thoughts and how they connect to your feelings can lead to changing thoughts and ultimately behaviors. Another part I liked was that the author not only made suggestions for taking control of emotions but wrote: “find something that works for you.” Not everything will work for everyone, and I think it is important to address that.
Overall, I really like the book, and I recommend people to keep an open mind when reading. Some parts made me question things. From a mental health perspective, I found it interesting and some of it even important. However, again, you cannot use this as a replacement for professional help and not all of it will apply to everyone. But I do find it to be a good read that does not use unnecessary jargon.

LITERARY TITAN - GOLD BOOK AWARD!
There is a warm feeling that embraces you the moment you land on the first page. The author narrates her stories in a manner that makes the reader feel like they belong. Her wording is amazing and she used the most appropriate phrases in her explanations. The book starts with the writer sharing her childhood story of being born in England. Being the ninth child of a family of ten children, she knew early that she had to be aware of self as she was born into her crowd. She goes on to talk about her life; her family emigrated to Australia then to New Zealand. She also talks about getting children in her early twenties, selling her home, buying a yacht and sailing from New Zealand to England.
The writer talks about being distressed, going through emotional agony, feeling guilty, going through betrayal and experiencing grief. It was not easy for her. Even with the trauma that Linda K. Ford went through, she was able to emerge strong in the end. I admire her attitude and perspective on life. There is a lot of wise words she shared throughout the book.
On inaccuracies of thoughts, the author discusses how we respond to the situations we are faced with on a daily basis. The author says that each one of us has the potential to experience happiness. We all can be cheerful at all times. Life is supposed to be joyful. Our past sometimes restricts us from experiencing infinite joy. I loved that in between the lines, the author posed questions for the reader to ponder over. Trauma is never a good thing. A troubling past can haunt you for years, making you feel like life is not worth it. The author also mentioned that the stronger one is emotional, the deeper they are bound to sink. How unfortunate that must be.
Her style of giving real-life example when explaining a topic is what made me enjoy this book. One of my favorite parts of the book was the chapter where she explained mental versus physical tiredness. Both are draining and can break a person. At the end of it all, the author assured the reader that there is still some hope. Don’t sit and be depressed about things that you can’t change. Life may not be a walk in the park, but there are instances and people who make our life in this universe worthwhile. When you get emotional, look for things that work for you. Talk to people who care, read a book, watch your favorite TV show, engage in a simple physical exercise; don’t just sit with a dark cloud hovering around you.
Decrypto: Unlock Your Life Journey is a book everyone who is on a quest to discover self should read. The words shared are a gem. The author enables the reader to have some hope even when things don’t go as planned.
