A tidal wave of terror sweeps southern Asia after the Japanese capture Hong Kong and Singapore. Over a one hundred thousand American, British, Canadian, and Indian prisoners of war are put to work building a Japanese railroad in some of the toughest jungle terrains in Asia; tens of thousands die of malnutrition, starvation, malaria, and Japanese mistreatment. Thousands of allied military and civilian prisoners are killed by illegal biological and chemical experiments conducted by a secret Japanese Army research program. The Japanese appear to be unstoppable.

Steve Doherty is an author in a class with such well-known writers as Tom Clancy and W.E.B. Griffin. His stories are factual, well-researched and a great deal of fun to read. This is the first of three books he has written based on actions and adventures immediately after Japan surrendered, ending WWII. His stories are gripping and interesting but I warn you; don't start reading one unless you are prepared to be immersed in the book. They are addictive.
I like historical fiction. And, of course, war stories provide a chance to turn up the drama with tragedy and romance. Based on your reviews, I would say your books are worth reading by avid readers. Unfortunately, I'm so busy writing that I have little time for reading. From the descriptions, I think these books would make good movies.
She was quite capable of taking care of herself...She appreciated everything he was doing for her and the Grandmothers Four, but she needed his help, not for him to take over.
