Excerpt
“Okay,” Steve said calmly, “let’s see if we can get her to come out of the bathroom. I’m sure there’s a logical explanation for all of this.” He walked over to the bathroom door and knocked. “Abby?” He knocked again. “Abby? It’s Steve. Open up.” He leaned his ear up against the door.
No response.
“We just want to help. Can you open the door? Please?”
Steve turned the door handle. It moved. He stood back. “Jenny, you should be the one who walks in.”
Jenny nodded and stepped forward. She turned the handle and slowly pushed the door open. “Abby?”
Suddenly a giant bat flew over her and into the bedroom. Jenny squealed and waved her arms wildly over her head to keep the bat from touching her. Matt ducked and covered his head with his arms. Steve also knelt down, but kept his eyes on the bat.
The creature flew a couple times around the room then flew out the bedroom window.
Matt stood slowly. “Holy Smokes! She really did turn into a bat.”
Steve turned and walked into the bathroom. It was empty. The bathroom window was closed. “I…I don’t believe it.”
