Excerpt
Bella takes a strong hold of her bit and for a moment I have a feeling this could
turn into a full-blown gallop. Thankfully the nearer we get to Aunty, Bella and
Hope sensibly slow down to a trot, eventually a walk and a finally a halt. Freya
and I look at each other with a big grin on our faces.
“I think Bella and Hope have got a bit of the wind up their tails”, laughs Aunty. “A
good canter up and down the beach will soon calm them down”.
“How long until we get to the beach Aunty?” I ask.
“Only five minutes away. Have you noticed the wind smells different? Can you
smell the sea salt in the air?”, she asks.
To be honest, I hadn’t really noticed. I take a deep breath in and concentrate as I
inhale. I can immediately smell the difference.
My tummy is jumping around. It feels as though I have a hundred butterflies
dancing inside.
Aunty suddenly stops.
“Look Ems. Here we are”, she says, looking at me with a big smile on her face.
I ride up alongside her and stop to take in this fabulous and precious moment. I
have never, ever seen anything so beautiful. The blue sea is slowly moving in the
distance and in front of us lies a carpet of golden sand which entwines magically
into the sea. I have my mouth wide open. Bella’s head is high in the air as she
breathes in the salty sea air. I quickly get my camera out of my bum bag and take
a photograph through Bella’s ears. I have taken so many already today, but this is
by far the best.

I was thrilled when I saw the author had brought out a second book in the series as I thoroughly enjoyed her first book The adventures of Bella & Emily. I love the way the author tells the story of the adventures she & her pony Bella go on, whilst staying with Aunty Pam and all her rescue animals. This story is gripping and is a MUST read for Pony & & animal lovers young and old. I love to read and I hope there will be more books in this series.

What a truly lovely book!
The author has the skill of completely drawing the reader in, I felt like I was spending a week at Auntie Pam’s with Emma and Bella, the dogs, naughty Tinker the goat, and all the gorgeous ponies at Auntie’s rescue centre in Devon. I was genuinely excited to see what each new day would bring. The rescue mission of the four darling foals and the subsequent fundraising to help with their vet bills was so interesting to read, I’ve learned a lot about the very hard but rewarding work these essential centres do.
Exciting, thought provoking and fact-packed, this book would make the perfect read for any animal loving youngster, particularly those who love horses and care about their well-being.
I was sorry to reach the end but so happy to learn that a new book in the series has just been released. I can’t wait!

I read the first book in this series and fell in love with Bella and Emily.
This is a good read. Emily learns a lot about the rescued horses and falls in love with another one. When she gets to go on a horse rescue, it breaks her heart. They are in such poor condition, but they get better.
It's Bella's birthday and she has presents and a card. Bella and Emily each get a special surprise for her birthday and it makes them both smile.
She's even made a new friend, a girl her age with the same interests. who is her Aunty's neighbour.
She's had a great week, got to ride Bella a lot, loved her surprise and now it's time to go home.
