Kelly nervously glanced at her watch while waiting for her best friend, Jackie, to arrive at the restaurant where, she and two other friends, Tiffany and Sarah were patiently seated.
"She must be running late," said Tiffany.
"Or she got hung back on a meeting," answered Kelly. She had one eye on
the door.
"You don't think she forgot, do you?" said Sarah.
Kelly took her eye off the entrance at Sarah's words and looked at the table.
"I just spoke to her last night," replied Kelly, glancing at her watch then at the door.
The waitress walked by looking at the trio of friends with a questioning expression.
"Shall we order in the mean time?" asked Tiffany

Good Story, Worth-While Read
I want to start off by saying that I do agree with other reviewers about the title and cover of the book – I don’t feel like they are a good representation of the story. I feel like it would probably deter some readers because the title and cover kind of cheapen the story and the writing and make it seem like it would be a cheesy and boring story, which it is definitely not! Other than the title and cover, everything about this book is amazing! I was very impressed with Judy Ramsook’s writing. It was a fairly short book and easy read, but still full of rich content. I loved the mixture of politics and romance and felt like it was done in a very entertaining and unique way. I was sucked deeply into the story and couldn’t put it down because I needed to know what happened! I felt like the characters were very well-developed and I did become attached to them which I find often happens in truly good stories. I would recommend it for sure

Let's start off with the fact that I think the title and cover of this book really don't do it justice - I think it is much better than most people would think. The content of the book covers all of the tangled webs that we weave when we fall in love. Much of the text is extremely well written and it certainly has the emotions that is sometimes missing in books like this.
While I'm not a member of the LGBT community myself (though I am certainly a whole-hearted ally), the story really pulled me in and I cared deeply about the characters. I found myself rooting for them and hoping the best for them. The writer really seems bright and emotional - pulling in everything needed to make a great story
Good, entertaining story
“The Lesbian and the Homophobic President” is a book written by Judy Ramsook. This is by far different from the type of books that I usually read and this is why I chose it. To change the scope, to read something new, and I have not regret doing so.
This novel has it all, romance, mystery and suspense. The plot is very good and interesting. I liked how the author writes. I find her writing style captivating as I could not put the book down. Moreover, characters are developed and well described as sceneries do.
I would certainly recommend reading The lesbian and the homophobic president. apart from all i mentioned, it is quite short so it is a good read to finish in a single day.
