The hardest thing to do for a friend is to help by standing up with them agains bullies. True friends are with you not just in the good times and this book does a good job at showing this in a simple and easy to understand way. I love this book as it also brings to light the idea that looks mean nothing!

*****Excellent Book
This is a great book to read as a conversation starter for young children. It touches on so many things as stated in the title "Empathy, Kindness and Friendship". Max is a special boy who takes everyone's feelings to heart and tries to make them feel special. I loved the story. It is beautifully illustrated and is perfect for children from preschool all the way up to primary.
Harrison has done an excellent job on this book. It is engaging and draws you in. I read it to some children who loved the pictures and asked some serious questions about. I would recommend this book to parents and teachers alike.
