As I rounded the corner on the ninth floor of the Easy Living Retirement Home, I heard my grandmother's voice, high-pitched and threatening, coming from her apartment at the end of the hall. Her door swung open and a man in a suit rushed into the corridor and ducked as a flower vase soared over his head and crashed against the wall. Lately, my grandmother had been clashing with real estate agents, so I guessed the man hurrying past me was one of them.
