Due to complications Gregory’s mother dies during childbirth. Growing up, Gregory is raised by a single father. Insisting that he will never be like his father, who loves the mighty dollar, he eventually becomes just like him.
Meeting the love of his life at the Junior High Prom, Gregory dates no other through his teen years.
High School graduation is usually a joyous time for most, but it turns out to be turmoil for Gregory and his father. When his father insists that Gregory follow in his footsteps, an argument ensues between the two after the reception. Maintaining that he doesn’t want to be a stockbroker like his father, Gregory runs away from home. He takes his girlfriend up on her offer to attend Bible College together, but does so under silent protest.
Telling his girlfriend that he is bored with the religious lifestyle, he drops out of college in his junior year and moves to New York to become the very thing that he hates in his father.
Unaccustomed to the sins of the big city, Gregory partakes for all the wrong reasons. Earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Gregory is hired at a prestigious brokerage firm. He marries a wealthy client’s daughter out of what he sees as necessity and it ends in ruin, but produces a child.
One evening Gregory‘s wife kicks him out of the house. With nowhere to go Gregory turns to a familiar site, a church located in Times Square. A life altering experience ensues, and Gregory feels led to embark on a soul-cleansing journey across the country. Walking from New York to LA, the voyage requires nine months of his life. Gregory sees, touches, and feels God’s marvelous hand every step of the way as he experiences matters of the miraculous.
Miracles aren’t uncommon for Gregory as he travels across America. Coming across a terrible car accident, Gregory discovers a young boy lying dead among the wreckage. Praying for God’s miracle hand to raise the boy from the dead, he sees God answer in like fashion.
In another instance, Gregory encounters a dairy farmer whose family business is on the verge of bankruptcy. He stays up all night to pray over the entire herd, and the Creator answers Gregory’s fervent prayer with a continuous flow of milk that eventually pays off the mortgage.
A witnessing of angels also occurs, and Gregory is fortunate enough to meet the angel Enoch.
The names of actual towns across the country are used to familiarize the reader with that particular section of the country, as well as heighten their senses to the surroundings.
The plot is filled with intrigue and suspense. Framed by a crooked cop for a murder he didn’t commit, Gregory crosses the state line and the FBI gets involved. On the run through five states, Gregory is later exonerated.
Captivated with the beauty of nature, Gregory also experiences the good and bad in mankind along the way. The Creator guides, shapes, and plans the way for this man. In the end, he makes the previous wrongs of life right.
