About the Author
Danny Von Kanel is a freelance writer, church musician, and music school teacher from Franklinton, Louisiana. Von Kanel has hundreds of published articles in 50+ magazines and two books.
Danny Von Kanel received his Bachelor of Church Music degree in 1977 from William Carey College Hattiesburg, Ms and Master’s of Church Music degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Von Kanel has served local churches as Minister of Music at Liberty Baptist Church, Liberty, Ms (1999-2002), First Baptist Church, Franklinton, La (2002-2005) and Memorial Baptist Church, Bogalusa, La (2005-2008). He presently teaches music at the L.P. Elementary/Middle School in Natchitoches but resides in Franklinton, Louisiana. He has been married to Beverly Gay Allen Von Kanel of Pascagoula for 35 years. They have two grown sons and five grandchildren.
