The Hall Tree is the true story of the Halls that grew tobacco in South Carolina, cotton in Georgia, corn in Arkansas, and peanuts in Oklahoma.
The branch of the Hall family that began in this country with John (b. 1769) and Mary (b. 1770) of Charleston, South Carolina, migrated to Carroll (Haralson) County, Georgia, before the Civil War. One branch moved to Missouri and later settled in Texas; another moved to Alabama; and three others moved to Madison County, Arkansas. And when Oklahoma became a state in 1907, several branches of these Arkansas Halls sharecropped and settled there.
The Hall Tree is the result of twenty years of research and the combined efforts of a dozen Halls and their in-laws. It contains not only the vital statistics of this family but testimonials, legends handed down, census records, family charts, and obituaries.
