excerpt from "Tag...You're Dead" Bill had been at Lara's about a half hour. About five minutes after he and Lara left, the doorbell to his apartment was ringing. Ding-dang-dong,ding-dang -dong... the chimes echoed throughout Bill's apartment. Elan was awakened and called out,"Dad get the door!" Reluctantly, she got out of bed and went to the door. "Who is it ?" she asked.There was no reply;just the doorbell sounding over and over. Elan went to the closet and pulled out an old suitcase. She dragged it towards the door so that she could see through the peep hole. It was just barely high enough. She saw who she thought was ...Lara. "Lara! Dad, it's Lara!" she said getting off the suitcase. She opened the door. When Bill arrived at his door,he unlocked it and went in to find the living room light turned off. He remembered leaving it on. This puzzled him. What shook him was the old brown suitcase which was now in the hallway leading into the living room. He called out, "Elan!" and ran to his bedroom where the only light was on. When he opened the door to his bedroom, he saw Elan. She was on his bed. She was tied up with a skipping rope. Her mouth was taped shut with what looked like duct tape. She was alert but Bill could see the terror in her eyes. "Baby! What the..." he was struck from behind.
