The days were getting longer as spring came to a close.
Sam and Jennie strolled the meadow and he picked for her a rose.
And a change came over Jenny. She laughed more when he was near.
Her broken heart was mending, now she seldom shed a tear.
The neighbors in the countryside and the people of the town
said she was a different girl whenever Sam came ‘round.
When she walked, a bounce was in her step, when she talked it was like a song.
She was happy for the first time since her mother had passed along.
And everyone could see just what had set her heart aglow.
It was Sam, the handsome fix it man, from the land of O-hoho.
