In a world of zombie filled movies I found this book an interesting take on a not quite zombie theme. Derek Burnham is a police officer who unfortunately discovers that he has been infected with a type of virus that the pharmaceutical company Pharmacure has unleashed on the public. The reanimation pill is not the wonder drug it is supposed to be. Yes, it might appeal to some, although being a zombie type person does have its drawbacks as readers will find out in this suspense filled thriller. Personally I never did trust drug companies and now I know why. This great read delves into conspiracies behind the wonder drugs, the drug companies and the drug cartels whose agendas do not worry about their customers well being. I love the authors writing style which makes the words flow and the reading a pleasure.
Wow! Finally a zombie novel where some of the zombies get to be the good guys.
Derek Burnham is a vice cop who works for the Ybor City Police Department. He is infected at a crime scene with a new virus that was introduced by Pharmacure, a greedy drug company.
Although Burnham dies and comes back alive with an out of control hunger, his commitment to law and order helps him maintain his sanity as he pushes forward to discover who is responsible for this new virus and come up with a way to stop it from spreading.
The plot is full of twists and turns as the author takes the reader on an intriguing and fast-paced ride through the story.
I highly recommend this book and can't wait to read more Gary Starta books.

Awesome book! You are hooked quickly and reeled into the story before you know it. This story has the makings of a Hollywood blockbuster. Didn't want to put the book down, loved the twists, and you feel like you know the characters. This was a great read from start to finish. The plot was intriguing and addictive. The author does an excellent job of developing the characters and making you care about what happens to them. It was the type of book that was very hard to put down, like a movie that kept you on the edge of your seat. I must say that this book is going up there as a favorite and I would recommend people to buy this book and believe me once you start reading "Dead Market", you will not be able to put it down I promise you!
