This book is a revealing and personally empowering look at self-liberating insights that will assist you in achieving a healthy love relationship anchored in unconditional love. Its wisdom will inspire you to deeper levels of self-acceptance and understanding. These words of love will benefit anyone; married or single; whether couples already in a committed relationship or singles who may be in search of a healthy love relationship. Larry James has transformed words of love into a message of hope that offers encouragement, inspiration and the opportunity for enlightenment in relationships. He presents a priceless treasury of inspiring and insightful thoughts, ideas, indispensable guidelines and reflections on love.
Larry's work in the relationship arena was inspired by a broken heart. When a relationship suddenly ended, he was devastated. Through counseling, he learned that he had no clue about what he needed from a love relationship. He had been doing the best he could but it was never good enough. He began to write his own guidelines for his next relationship (if he ever had one) and when he showed what he had written to his therapist, the therapist said, "This is some of the best stuff I've seen written by a non-therapist. You must write more and publish this as a book." The rest is history.
After showing his writing to his author/speaker friends, he received glowing reviews and began researching and writing more to complete what is now, "How to Really Love the One You're With." He is grateful to Dr. Larry Losoncy (Tulsa, OK) for his encouragement and guidance
Excerpt
Forgiveness is the key to happiness in a love relationship. It ends the illusion of separation, and its power can change misery into happiness in an instant. Forgiveness means choosing to let go, move on, and favor the positive. Forgiveness is not complicated. It is simple. You simply identify the situation to be forgiven and ask yourself, "Am I willing to waste my energy further on this matter?" If the answer is "no," then that's it. All is forgiven. Telling someone is a bonus. Choice is always present in forgiveness. You do not have to forgive and there are consequences.
. . . When we avoid the legitimate suffering that results from dealing with relationship problems, we also avoid the growth that problems demand from us. The secret is to never wallow in the suffering any longer than is necessary to learn the lesson the suffering presents. You must learn to see upsets not only as an exterior circumstance to be remedied, but as an interior condition to be understood. Mutual loving confrontation is a significant part of all successful and meaningful healthy love relationships. Without it the relationship is either unsuccessful or shallow.
