I laughed till I cried and still chuckle when I muse back over this riotously entertaining book. Christy Tillery French has such a witty twist to her words that I could not help but devour the whole book in one sitting. You will absolutely love her characters, all of them, primary and secondary. And Jonce Striker is to die for. I adored the interaction between Jonce and Natasha and the love scenes will make your heart race. THE BODYGUARD AND THE SHOWDOG is this summer’s beach read for sure so make plans to buy your copy.

WRONG!
Natasha is excited about starting her own business despite the complaints from Striker and her family that it is too dangerous for her. Her first case guarding Chumley, a champion show dog should be a piece of cake. However, whether it s Natasha’s style or just the fact that the case is jinxed she runs into trouble at every turn. Jonce Striker, her ex-boss, now lover is having to pull her out of trouble almost daily and is not happy about it. Will this case cause a serious rift in their building relationship or will Natasha and Jonce manage to balance their individual needs for independence. As Natasha follows the clues to who has threatened she runs into an animal abuser, lands in the hospital and is thrown into jail, no wonder Jonce is a bit worried for her safety. Who would have thought guarding a dog would be such a challenge?
THE BODYGUARD AND THE SHOW DOG is a laugh a minute story in the best Janet Evanovich style. The situations that Natasha finds herself in are hilarious, her attempts to balance her career and her relationship are the makings of an Emmy winning sitcom. Ms. Tillery French’s Bodyguard series is one that will have you laughing and cheering Natasha’s bid for independence even as you feel complete sympathy for Jonce’s quest to keep her safe from herself. A wonderful book for an afternoon read.

Natasha is convinced that she has finally found her niche in life. She's going to be a bodyguard. She wants to be independent, and this all-important first case is her ticket to be so. Only she's expected to guard a dog! After she dismisses it on principle, the dog's owner convinces Natasha to take the case, at least her money does. She assures her life mate, Striker, that the case will be a walk in a park. She doesn't count on being chased by a Doberman, applying to be an exotic dancer or being arrested.
As someone in the investigative business, Jonce Striker knows no job is easy. Since Natasha came up with the idea of being a bodyguard, Striker can barely keep his mind on his own work. Between rescuing Natasha from the situations she finds herself in, and trying to figure out ways to get her to marry him, there isn't much time to think of mundane things like work. His partner and office mates know if the cell phone rings, and Striker yells "You did what?" the man is out of there.
Ms. French creates a wonderful cast of colorful characters in this, the second book of her Bodyguard Series, and Striker is a perfectly yummy hero. Some of the situations Natasha involves herself and others in positively encourage laughing out loud. Frankly, The Bodyguard and the Show Dog is rollicking good fun.

In “The Bodyguard and the Show Dog,” Christy Tillery French’s main character Natasha is as messy and off-putting as the Pug show dog she’s hired to protect. Somehow both are endearing in the escapades that romp through the pages. Who would think the competition of a dog show would be fierce enough to threaten harm to the award-winning Pug? Natasha reluctantly takes her first case as a protection specialist and finds the bite worse than expected once she starts investigating. When Striker, Natasha’s mentor and lover, tries to protect her, she demands the space to make mistakes. Returning minor characters Pit, Bigun and Roger are a delight when they try to help. French weaves action, romance, and mystery into this comedic novel. 5 star!
