I have driven through the wood
through erratic forest have I trodden;
halflight and birds in flight flooding a hood.
Precious trees and wonderful fruits
litter all over the place.
It seems amazing a glittering spectacle
but my heart still wanders.
Drifting from golden moonlight to diamond sunlight
running my fingers to the numb.
Trying to find reason alone
with ever shifting season.
In the nebulous sweetness of paradise
never have found genuine enough face.
And my case rested
You’ve got a heart arrested.
I knew from the first line
of a wistful smile.
I knew from the first golden curl
that skipped coyly on your face.
