The book is a story about a young butterfly that just went through the process of metamorphosis changing from being a Caterpillar to a butterfly.She was stubborn .Her mum instructed her never to go out to the fields to play alone because of the other animals that could eat her up.There were birds ,monkeys,rats waiting to eat up the young butterfly which was still learning how to fly.But she refused to listen to her mums instructions. The young butterfly went out to have fun all alone in the fields.She was eaten up by a waiting bird. She cried inside the birds gut and the entire animals begged the bird to vomit her out.Finally the wise tortoise came around with an idea.It brought some seeds and begged the bird to have the seeds and let the young butterfly go.The bird finally agreed and blew its nostrils.Then out came the scared, tired butterfly.She was dazed but happy to be reunited with her mum.A party was held to celebrate her escape but she learnt a lesson in obedience.A lesson for all children to obey all instructions from their teachers ,carers and parents.A proverb says that the stubborn grasshopper ends up inside the gut of the bird.An amusing and very educative tale for children ,beautifully illustrated and written in simple language. A delight to all children and a good bedtime story for them.
