Said Willy to himself, "This is where I earn some pay."
He looked around the shop and found some plastic litter trays.
Carefully arranging them in tidy little ranks,
He filled the first one with the fish from one of the fishtanks.
In the next he placed a puppy, and in the third a cat,
The rest, he filled with mice and hamsters, rabbits and a rat,
Axolotls, baby ducks, and guinea pigs so hairy;
But when he tried to fill a tray with finches and canaries -
All hell broke loose as, with a hiss, the cat leapt from its tray,
And attacked the frighteneld little birds, which promptly flew away.
The shop was suddenly alive with fluttering and flapping,
Pouncing cats, fleeing rats and little puppies yapping.
Willy ran from side to side, grabbing at thin air,
Yelling, panting, running, jumping, crying in despair.
