Suspenseful, Complex and Engaging, April 7, 2016
The mismatched, quirky pairing of Stella and Carter continues in this third installment of the Stella Hunter Mystery Series, The Byzantine Connection. From Detroit to Savannah and Richmond to the Hamptons, Stella and Carter’s escapades will keep you engaged and turning the pages to see what supernatural, mysterious occurrence will take place next.

Stella and Carter’s relationship has progressed and there is emotional attachment, which I found to be further developed than I would have anticipated. There is also more revealed about Carter’s background and family history, which ultimately plays a significant role in the unfolding of this story. As usual, Ms. Petrick’s imagery, character development, and storytelling are superb, which kept me engaged and invested in the tale. Keeping track of the multitude of characters is, at times, slightly challenging but I tend to prefer a bit more complex read.

The one issue I had is more technical in nature. Unlike the other books, this one could stand another quick edit to clean up some grammatical and syntax issues, which I found to be slightly distracting. Overall, another excellent story from Edita Petrick. The mystery, suspense, suggestions of romance, and snippets of humor combine to create an entertaining read with an unexpected ending. I am looking forward to the next installment in the series, as I cannot imagine where things might go from here.

Amazingly complex, loved it, April 4, 2016
Amazing 3rd installation of the Stella Hunter novels. I’ve been following this series ever since the beginning and I’m so stoked that it’s April because the next book is coming out!

Still, 3 books in, and Petrick continues to impress me. This time Stella & Carter go on an adventure to get to the bottom of yet another mind boggling mystery - and the only clue they have are from the words of Father Melvin before he passed away. Petrick’s books get incresingly better and better, the more I read the more I feel as though I know her characters - Stella especially. It takes a rare gift to breathe life into a character and that is exactly what Petrick does, I can never wait long enough for her next instalment of books and am hungry for more! My only suggestion is to really start from the beginning and read your way through. Definitely worth it.

Another Great Read from a Prolific Writer, March 22, 2016
The first novel caught my attention and held it. The second book followed very well and here is the third book, and I couldn't wait to get started with it after reading other series of the story wanting to know how the mystery was solved in apprehending the Peacemaker's controller, and Carter struggles to get to the bottom of the "miracle" everyone is talking about, at all cost. This is a fine read which was Byzantine as stated in the title, excessively complicated with the twists and turns of the plot with its myriad of characters. You won't be disappointed, and it's an excellent addition to an excellent series!
