Burdens And Weariness
You have given me a long life, Father. Looking back over the years I feel gratitude for your gift but dismay that life has been such a struggle.
I've shouldered so many responsibilities during these years. I've carried many well, I've stumbled under many. When I stumble it wasn't because I had stopped trying. When I stumbled I always fell into the safety net of your mercy.
I am stumbling now, Lord. This load feels like it will be the end of me. I've been carrying it almost a lifetime. I am so weary, Jesus. It seems that not only the daily tasks are ever present with me but one crisis after another overtakes me and threatens to drown me in their depths.
I need changes, I need strength. I know both of those blessings are within your power to give, so I'm asking you for both.
Thank you for loving me, Lord. Thank you for taking care of me and giving me strength beyond my own.
Dear Lady, I read the excerpt from your book and heard my own voice crying out to my Lord daily. Daily, I am reminded of Elvis's song. "This Time You Gave Me a Mountain, a mountain that I cannot climb. I've climbed many hills in my life, Lord. I've conquered them one by one. But, this time, you gave me a mountain, a mountain that I cannot climb. I am stumbling, getting up, persevering, for underneath are the everlasting arms. I need changes, strength and like you, I thank Him for taking care of me and each day giving me strength to go one more hour, one more day until, this, too, shall pass and there will be a brighter day for me. Thank you for posting this. I have so many poems and inspirational articles given to me by the Lord on my journey of life. You have inspired me to begin preparing my work for publishing so that my pain and experiences can bless others as you have blessed me. We shall know Him in the fellowship of His suffering. God bless you with more of Him than you ever dreamed possible.

Congratulations on your new book! Shows another side of your writing. Our recent exchange prompted the poem that I've posted today. From what I gather, your life as been much rougher than mine. So I am encouraged by your strength and overcoming all this you've been through. I will be looking forward to everything your pen produces.
